Sometimes our path is not clear.
There is a fog.
There is confusion.
But listening to our intuition will always guide us in the right direction.
Imagine you are the person in the picture above. How do you feel?
Growing your intuition is a lot about noticing your feelings. In the picture, no doubt there is probably a sense of awe. There is probably also a sense of peace, a sense of being alone with ones’ thoughts. The more alone, the louder those messages are.
In the first part of this series, I talked about quieting your mind, keeping a journal and being grateful. Click here to read more.
In this entry, I take those concepts a bit further, starting with noticing how you feel.
• Notice How You Feel
The more you listen for messages, the more you will start “feeling” them. It is a sensation in your gut. For example, I would bet that you know almost immediately if a new person you meet is someone you want to get to know better or not. This would be your intuition or guides giving you a message.
One way to learn to hear this is to work to block negativity in your life. In other words, keep an open mind at all times and you will hear the messages. The messages cannot overcome the negative programming or negative tapes that we acquire as bad things happen to us. Growing our intuition is also about letting go… overcoming negative thinking and learning to maintain a positive outlook.
• Test yourself
Now that you are more tuned into yourself and your personal energy, let’s put it to the test. It’s easy. Ask yourself a question about the future or a situation and then write down or notice the very first thing that comes to mind. That is your intuition speaking. It is not what comes after… you know… all that negative self-talk etc. Granted when I first started doing this it wasn’t easy. It takes practice. So be kind to yourself and just let whatever happens happen.
Another way to experiment is to measure how much you ‘knew’ something was going to happen after it did. This version doesn’t really require any action on your part to start. You are just noticing outcomes. The more you notice, the stronger you become. The stronger you become, the more your intuition grows.
Here’s another idea. When I was first starting this process, I was at one of my favorite lunch spots and when the cashier took my order, I felt like she was pregnant. I didn’t say anything at the time because I can’t imagine that there is every a time to ask a woman that question. Then about a week or so later, I was there again and she was telling everyone that she was pregnant. I am sharing this just to show you that as long as you allow yourself to listen, you will eventually
start getting the answers.
Just once a day, test yourself. Ask a question to yourself about the people around you. Did you hear your intuition? If not, that’s perfect. Just keep trying. It will all happen when it is supposed to.
So What Does This All Mean?
What this means is that intuition is really about listening. It is about being tuned into the universal consciousness. It is allowing and creating a better understanding of yourself and those around you. It is about being at peace and accepting the universe as it is. At the same time though, it is also about pushing yourself forward and not allowing yourself to get stuck while on your journey through life. So many people seem lost, listless and confused. Deep down they are hurting. Perhaps someone did something to them. Perhaps they did something they regret. Whatever it is, by letting go and letting the peaceful voice of intuition in, will make a difference in your life. I’ve done it and I know you can too.
